What’s hot in the French property market for 2013

Brits have always liked buying property in France, and for 2013 they will have a chance to buy luxurious houses and châteaus with vineyards. There are many properties for sale – from apartments in Paris to Chalets in the Alps and buyers have many different reasons for buying, such as wanting a place for holidays, whilst others need a place to do business.

Home Hunt, which assists Brits looking for properties to buy in France, has noted an interesting development in the French property market. It seems a number of châteaux with vineyards are up for sale and Tim Swannie, Home Hunt representative, says many prospective clients, some of them Chinese, have expressed the intention at looking at vineyards in the Bordeaux, Roussillon Languedoc, and Provence.

One of the châteaux up for sale is a 19th century château in Bordeaux. Carrying a price of €8,480,000, the property also includes an efficiently managed vineyard. The château has a tasting room, a flat and three bedrooms for guests. An adjacent Château may also be bought through separate negations.

In Provence an estate composed of a 5 bedroom house, apartment, guardian house and 23 hectares of with vines, olive grove and gardens is for sale. The property also includes a stone barn used for making and bottling wines. Many people coming over to buy a vineyard have budgets of about €1.5M to €2.5M, whilst those looking for popular vineyards complete with a Château are prepared to spend anywhere between €5M – €50M.

Luxury houses are for sale on the Riviera in towns such as Biot, Valbonne and Mougins. According to Mr. Swannie, these areas are popular with international buyers looking for a place to relocate or somewhere that will provide them accommodation during holidays. These areas are peaceful and quiet but quite near beaches, and other entertainment centres and perhaps most importantly, they are near airports.

Mr. Swannie says further that Cap Ferrat and Cap d’Antibes will also remain attractive to the very rich from all countries of the world particularly those from China, Brazil, Middle East, Russia and UK.
