Monaco offers a large number of tourist attractions to those who holiday in the sunny principality. First up is the Place du Palais, or the Prince’s Palace as the English call it. The Palace was actually originally built during the 13th century and was the home of the prince of Monaco as the name implies. Every second day of the month is the guard ceremony which is one of the best attractions to take in while visiting the Palace.
Another great stop while in Monaco is the Oceanographic Museum and Aquarium which sits at the high height of 279 feet and sports a large collection of aquatic species. This is a great stop for families that are looking for something that will capture the attention of little ones as well as the adults.
Of course, a stop in Monaco is not complete until you pay a visit to the Monte Carlo which is well known due to its presence in the Bond movies. While you can read about Monte Carlo in different books, it is something that you cannot really imagine until you see at which point you will be stunned by the brilliance.
It is only reasonable therefore that the Monte Carlo casino is one of the most premier attractions of the city. Even if you are not a gambler you will want to stop by and check it out just to feel the ambience of the 19th century building. There are many gaming rooms that are decorated with glass paintings, sculptures, allegorical paintings, and bronze lamps that are all century pieces.
Finally, make sure to check out the Wax Museum of the Princes of Monaco before leaving the city which is a lot like the Madame Tussauds’ wax museums. Here you will find wax figurines of the different princes of the country that tell the story of how Monaco was shaped.
