The festivals of the South of France

The South of France is a destination that has always been popular with holidaymakers, and it’s difficult to find a reason not to visit here, when you consider that some of this part of France has over 300 days of sunshine a year, and has over 100 kilometres of incredible coastline. Here, you are certain to find some of the world’s most beautiful beaches, and all of this leads to a fantastic time away.

As well as the great weather and beaches, you are also going to find that there are great places to stay, fantastic cuisine, and great shopping opportunities. There are also numerous festivals that are held in this destination throughout the year, and if you have come on holiday during one of these events, it is a great thing to come and see.

If you are in Nice during July, which is a popular month to visit, then you are going to be able to visit the jazz festival, which is held in the Roman ruins of the city. This Festival has been running for over 60 years, and it sees many great jazz talents come to perform. In the past, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davies, and Herbie Hancock have all performed at this fantastic festival, and these names should give you an idea of just how fantastic this event can be.

This is an event that is very easy going, and you will find that it has an incredibly informal atmosphere, where you will just be able to saunter about and enjoy some fantastic jazz music. Bringing a picnic and just enjoying yourself here is a wonderful way to spend a few days on holiday
