It’s not surprising, given how many popular films have been set there. If you’re longing to experience a moment from your favourite Paris movie scenes it’s very easy – just note down these locations:

Amélie (2001) has become the most adored movie to come out of Paris in recent times. The protagonist do-gooder Amélie Poulin (Audrey Tautou) visits some of the capital’s most beautiful places, and as little was altered for filming, it is easy to feel like you’re in the story. The movie was largely set in the district of Montmartre, so this is the best place to start. You can visit the grocery store of the nasty Monsieur Collignon – a real-life shop on Passage des Abbesses. Take a break at Café des Deux Moulins , the famous café where Amélie works. Be sure to try the crème brulee, fittingly named after Amélie.

Audrey Hepburn may have been British but she’s as classic and stylish as Paris herself, and her movie Charade (1963) is still one of the favourite films set in the French capital. Rather wonderfully, the marionette show where Reggie (Hepburn) and Peter ( Cary Grant) met can be found at the Theatre Vrai Guignolet, in the Jardins des Champs Elysees. Depending which day of the week you go, you can still see the marionettes performing.

The hotel where Cary Grant’s character famously takes a shower in his suit is the Hotel St Jacques in the Latin Quarter at 35 rue des Ecoles. Of course you can relive this scene in any hotels in Paris … but remember that Grant’s suit was drip-dry!

Those who prefer their films with a little more action can follow in the footsteps of Matt Damon in The Bourne Identity (2002) as he faced up to his mysterious past – and the people out to get him. When Bourne and his sidekick Marie arrived in Paris they spent their first night sleeping in the car, which was parked on the Quai de la Tournelle, on the Left Bank. (You don’t have to resort to the same; there are some great Paris hotels nearby which are far more comfortable). The next day Bourne dropped in to his apartment, at 104 rue du Jardin, where the trouble starts. In real life the apartment is 104 Avenue Kléber, just near the Metro Trocadero.

However, in Paris you and your family will enjoy the splendid atmosphere of the city as well.

Everyone knows that Disneyland is a must see destination for a family holiday. The entire operation is set toward delivering a thrilling and pleasant experience for each person in your family, whether child or adult. The Disneyland Resort in Paris had formerly been called Euro Disney, but regardless of name, it has remained one of the most popular Disneyland’s in the world.

The compound for the 1992 resort is a sprawling 15 square miles, with an endless parade of new events and attractions being added. Included on its campus are seven hotels and three parks (Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney Studios, and Disney Village) for your family to explore. Every hotel and park is designed around a special theme. You’ll never get bored.

Disneyland Paris Park is the classic Disney idea for a park. You’ll find all the great characters from the Disney cartoons that you and your children love. Each Disney tale is on exhibit. Not only this, you will be transported back to America at the turn of the 20th century when you walk down Main Street. It is the typical small American town that sets the pace in this park.

The second park is the Walt Disney Studios Park. It is designed to expose you to the movie making experience of Hollywood. You can take a tram to get a sweeping tour of the films in CineMagique.

The third place is Disney Village Park. It is more adult oriented than the other two, with bars, dancing all night, restaurants, and even Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Dinner Show. Every style of music is available at the music fest year round.

As for the hotels, they are among the best accommodations around. Each hotel has its own style. The New Hotel York transports you back to Manhattan in the 1930′s. The Hotel Santa Fe gives you the taste of Route 66. Disneyland Hotel is fashioned as a Victorian mansion. Hotel Cheyenne is oriented toward the Wild West. Newport Bay Club is a nautical themed hotel. The Sequoia Lodge has the smell of the National Parks of the American West. Davy Crockett Ranch has rough and ready bungalows, if you enjoy nature.

It is no secret that Paris is the city of lovers and thus well trafficked, but sometimes the huge lines and hordes of tourists can ruin a great deal of the romance that you are supposed to be able to feel in the air. However, if you choose to book a holiday to Paris during the spring not only will there be fewer tourists, but there will be a larger amount of locals around really allowing you to soak up the true culture of the city of lights.

In fact, during the spring you can pick up the culture simply by strolling down the street or sitting on at a classic café and watching people as they converse and go about their business. If you wait until summer to do the same all you will see are hordes of tourists, which greatly diminishes the overall magic of the trip.

Outside of the ambience of France during the spring, you will find that all of the major attractions are still open and welcoming such as the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, and the Louvre. Even better, the lines will be much shorter and you can spend a great deal more time at each of these attractions during to the fact you will not waste hours mulling through crowds or waiting in line.

In addition, there are often many local art collections and galleries as well as concerts in full swing that you can actually find tickets to and attend that may be closed or sold out during the busy spring season allowing you to get a better taste of France at its peak.

Notre Dame de Paris is one of the most famous buildings in the world, and perhaps the most well-known cathedral. Beautiful gothic architecture and hundreds of years of history make it a must see destination for everyone. Luckily, cheap flights to Paris have made the City of Lights incredibly accessible and now you can go and visit this stunning cathedral yourself.

Notre Dame de Paris is one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture. Its beautiful bell towers and gargoyles will delight enthusiasts and casual tourists. The cathedral was restored in the 19th Century so it is completely intact and stands today in its full glory despite the fact that construction upon the site began in AD 1163.

Notre Dame de Paris has long been a site of important events, such as the beatification and canonisation of Joan of Arc. It is still an important touchstone for French culture; indeed, it is well known for its Lent sermons, which have recently seen speeches by some of France’s premier public figures and academics. In many ways a visit to the cathedral takes you to the heart of France’s past and present.

The cathedral stands alongside the Seine River, and is located in the fourth arrondissement of Paris. This central location means you can see Notre Dame de Paris and easily move on the exploring other parts of the city. Indeed, this great cathedral is an ideal starting point for anyone on a trip to Paris. Be sure to check out the iconic Eiffel Tower as well the Louvre and Montmartre during your time in the amazing City of Lights.

Opening on March 10th, the retrospective will present an overview of Freud’s output including his almost obsessive treatment of his portraits and the nude being drawn, and his desire to make his paintings to look like flesh.

in addition to aboutabout 50 large works of art, visitors will also be able to peruse photos of the artist’s London studio and a selection of graphic works. The exhibition sees some of his most famous paintings, such as Leigh Bowery and Big Sue, arranged around a 900 metre squared space in a studio theme.

Freud, who is still alive today at 88 years old and is the grandson of the famous psychiatrist Sigmund, has not had a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou since 1987 and this show is a real tribute to an important artist.

Tickest for the Freud exhibition can be bought online online or at the box office for €12 (£10.84), with the doors opening at 11:00 and closing at 21:00 (local time) every day except Tuesdays until July 19th.

Paris, which is also known as the city of lights, attracts people from all over the world because of its romantic cityscape, rich culture, great shopping, and the warmth of its people.

The most notable tourist attractions in Paris are the Eiffel Tower; The Musee du Louvre, Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Paris, Avenue des Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, and the River Seine.

The Eiffel tower has been the symbol of Paris for many years and offers tourists the best view of the city. You can take an elevator to the top or you can climb the stairs if you are physically able. The best time to visit is an hour before the sunset to witness the so called ‘golden hour.’ The Louvre is the oldest and the largest museum in the world, and features art from almost all cultures throughout history. The famous Mona Lisa painting is kept in this museum. The Avenue Des Champs-Elysees is filled with luxury shops that make it a great shopping destination for tourists.

A european visa must first be secured if you are travelling from a country outside of the EU. There are two airports in Paris, Charles de Gaulle and Orly. You can travel through the city via the Metro, a bus, or a taxi. There are six railway stations that serve Paris and the Metro is one of the best public transportation systems in the world. There are also taxis cruising throughout the city, but it is best to get a taxi at a stand. Although there are a lot of transportation options in Paris, a lot of interesting streets are best explored on foot.

People planning weddings over the coming months could be tempted to seek out some inspiration from arguably the most romantic city in the world in the next few weeks, as Paris plays host to the International Bridal Fashion Show.

More than 100 different companies will be showing off their wares at the Porte de Versailles in the French capital between June 27th and 29th.

From dresses to cakes, accessories to flowers and cars to honeymoon ideas, weddings take a huge amount of planning and preparation.

As such, visitors may well be tempted to take some of the stress out of getting ready for their big day by picking up a few ideas as they enjoy some quality time enjoying the sights and sounds of France – perhaps staying in a luxurious hotel in Paris – while also taking some time to iron out the details of their wedding.

Last year’s edition of the showcase saw more than 2,500 people attend over the course of the three-day events and this year promises to be even better, with organisers taking extra steps to meet the needs of visitors.

The event is free to attend and Port de Versailles is easily accessible from the centre of Paris.

Visitors are advised to secure their hotel rooms as early as possible to avoid disappointment. LateRooms.com offers over 350 Paris hotels ranging from serviced apartments to luxury hotels.
